You know it just came to me that if you look at this thread title quickly it just says I want Bob Rock to reproduce.

Lars may sue Bob for that. Bob won't want to take the risk.

I wouldn't bet anything against that actually happening either.

wow, james really said he liked the guitar tone on DM? =/ i dont even know how to respond to that.

i cant even wrap my head around the fact that 20 years ago their records sounded perfect, and now they sound like shit. they should record the next album totally in analog, like AC/DC did for black ice. lars would shit himself if he actually had to play all the drum parts and couldnt just copy/paste it all. although he would probably still punch in a lot of stuff

I enjoy the GH: Metallica video of him trying to play just the first 30 seconds of Shortest Straw and how hard it was for him.

James was so happy with the fact that they made a good album after st. anger. He could love anything related to DM.

The fact that they're still making albums is good enough for me to care what any of their music sounds like.

DM was a mediocre at best album, with terrible production. i know mediocre is as good as they can do nowadays, so i wish they would at least make it sound as good as possible. i wanna see them make music in a room that doesnt have a wall of computers and pro tools and shit. i hink rasmussen would be a better choice than rock, but rubin has to go, did a terrible job. let lars' son master the next album, as long as it isnt rubin. unfortunately, i think the band has confirmed theyre gonna work with rubin again. hopefuly rubin uses the internet and realizes he needs to not let metallica sound like garbage next time. and he needs to make lars retire the st anger snare.

lars still uses a super pingy snare, not as bad as i disappear or st anger, but its still super annoying. i lump it in with the st anger snare since theyre both shitty sounding.

Greg Fidelman was the guy who (I think?) was responsible for the end product of Death Magnetic.

rick rubins name is still on it, isnt it? i think less of everyone involved after hearing the final product. rick rubin is the producer, even if other people work for him/with him, he should do his best to insure the quality of the final product.

I liked it up until I heard Death Magnetic. Now whenever I hear stuff from St. Anger - aside from a song or two - I can't help but put it in the missed opportunity bin.
