This one's been out for almost a month, kinda wondering what people think of it. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Ozzy's solo stuff. I personally think that Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary of A Madman are incredibly overrated. Aside from a song here or there, usually there's nothing about his albums that resonate. And this album is no exception. But of one thing there is no doubt however, he has a knack for finding talented guitarists. Being a fan of Firewind, I welcomed the presence of Gus G. Scream has some moments (sadly) that are slightly reminiscent of Black Rain, but for the most part it abandons the industrial elements that he had explored. This is a more straight up metal offering. A few songs, Soul Sucker for example, even have a Sabbath like plod to them. But sadly, as is the case with his other solo work, there's just not enough substance to hold everything together. I like the guitar work, but that's about it. One good ingredient does not a tasty cookie make. This metal icon should hang up his horns.

Ozzy should have hung up his horns 30 years ago.

I like it, better than Black Rain.

People ask the question what's a RocknRolla? And I tell 'em - it's not about drugs, drums, and hospital drips, oh no. There's more there than that, my friend. We all like a bit of the good life - some the money, some the drugs, other the sex game, the glamour, or the fame. But a RocknRolla, oh, he's different. Why? Because a real RocknRolla wants the fucking lot.

It is a joke. The last good album that he had was Ozzmosis, and they made the mistake of kicking out Zakk after it was done. The only thing that brought his solo career back was having Zakk come back and tour for Down To Earth.

Gus is good, but I give it a year, two at tops before they ask Zakk to rejoin. Frankly, that is the majority reason anyone goes to see Ozzy that is under 40.

Ozzy to me has always been filler in his own bands. He does not write his own lyrics, never has, he just surrounds himself with good musicians. Hell, his song for Sharon was written by Lemmy.

I really don't know why he's still making records actually. I've seen videos of him on tour the past year or so with Gus G and he sounds horrible, one comment I heard that I totally agree with is that it his current touring band would be pretty great if they had someone who could sing. I guess with studio albums they can doctor it up so anyone can sound decent, but he's gotten to the point to where he can't come close to duplicating it live.

Like I said in the topic I made with the new BLS songs, and what some here have said is I hope Zakk stays on his own from here on out, he made his best BLS albums when he was not with Ozzy, and the new material from the upcoming album sounds like it's going to be similar in style and quality.

I didn't mind black rain once I got into it. This one on the other hand is fucking horrible from what I've heard of it so far.

ozzy needs to retire from live performances. he uses a fucking vocal tape live. who else does that? i cant think of anyone else. i know ozzy used to use tapes back in the day too, and it worked well, but his voice was pretty good back then, and his real vocals werent at 10% volume while the tape was at 100%, like it is now. fuck, his real vocals might just be muted all together nowadays. thats just pathetic. if you have to lip sync, fucking quit. as bad as hetfield sounds, at least its him doing it every time, for real.

well, the performance i saw, ozzy was jumping up and down, and obviously did not say the words in a verse, yet the words were still played. no tape? so ozzy just fucking willed the words into the PA? to say he doesnt use vocal tapes is like saying kirk hammett doesnt own a wah.

1:52, when he says ''youre mine to take'' his lips are obviously not synced with the vocal tape.

ive seen countless other examples, this is the one i remembered and knew off the top of my head. i cant find the one where he was jumping and backed away like 3 feet from the mic, and the vocals never sounded like he moved at all.

Yes in that video he lip syncs. I've seen him live and he didn't lip sync.

So you watched his mouth the entire time? Did you watch it on a monitor or did you use your eagle eyes?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he doesn't. When I saw him 2 years ago he forgot the words to War Pigs at one point so I'm pretty he actually sings it.

Pretty sure he doesn't lip sync here.

''he des not use vocal tapes''

''in that video he lip syncs''

am i just an idiot, and lip syncing and using vocal tapes arent the same thing?

at 2:20 ish, the lyrics SHOULD be ''if youre gonna go down, go loud'' but ozzys mouth says ''if youre gonna go down go hard'', but, HOLY FUCK MAGIC, his voice still says the right words. unless one of the backup singers is also ozzy, i dont see how he isnt using a tape dude.

at 2:15, he jumps up and down and moves away from the mic a little while ''singing'' the chorus, but it sounds like his mouth never moved away from the mic. ozzy is one talented dude, cos when i do that i notice a difference in the volume of my vocals.

at 1:50 hes singing the wrong words, again, yet they still come out right. at 2:16 it kinda looks like he does the same thing as the other video, and says ''hard'' instead of ''loud''. it takes real skill to be able to sing the right lyrics, while at the same time not singing the right lyrics.

the backing band is great, too bad they dont have a good vocalist
